Carbon280 was one of seven companies selected by Oz Minerals for their Hydrogen Hypothesis Challenge. There were 158 applicants from 35 countries. The focus of the challenge was to identify experiments that can demonstrate the safe and effective use of hydrogen in a mining context, with the aim of providing OZ Minerals insight into how Hydrogen can be used to support zero or low carbon processes.

Brett Triffett, OZ Minerals’ Transformation Technologist, said:

“The mining sector has the opportunity to leverage the progress made in other sectors and explore the use of Hydrogen technology in its operations.”

Mark Rheinlander, Carbon280 CEO, said: “We are looking forward to working with Oz Minerals and to getting to know the other members of this talented Hydrogen team. It’s heartening to see an Australian company investing in early stage technology, and is a reflection of the high standards that Oz sets on everything from innovation to ethics. Congrats to Brett Triffett and the team.”
