Why Carbon280?

Prior to Industrialisation, and since the end of the last ice age, CO2 levels had stabilised at around 280ppm. They are now over 400ppm and climbing. If good people do nothing, the planet will become unliveable.

Our company name - Carbon280 - is a reminder that Net Zero isn't good enough, the real goal should be to restore CO2 to pre-industrial levels. Above all else we need to be driven to protect our planet as it's the only one we've got.

At Carbon280 we should always ask ourselves if what we're doing is good for the planet. It's a simple question, which may not have a simple or straightforward answer because often, what is seemingly good for business is not good for people and the planet.

Hydrilyte® is an energy carrier that is intrinsically safe for people to handle and it is non-toxic to the environment. Hydrilyte® does not require compression or cooling and can be stored in simple tanks under ambient conditions. Hydrilyte® is a liquid and can be transported using the existing shipping, rail, road and pipeline infrastructure developed to move fossil fuels. This has the potential to both speed up and reduce the cost of the transition to cleaner energy.
